If you’re like a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners I talk with, you’re on LinkedIn…but you’re not getting the results you know are possible from being there.
Bottom line, you aren’t getting LinkedIn profile leads.
One of the most powerful actions you can take to get better results and generate LinkedIn profile leads is to create a headline that stands out.
What makes me say that?
Easy…your headline is one of the first things that appears in search results, every time you post anywhere on LinkedIn and when someone views your profile.
(For those of you who don’t know what your headline is…it’s the text directly under your name and to the right of your picture.)
And when your headline is positioned properly, this visibility generates LinkedIn profile leads for you.
As it has for me and the thousands who have used my system. And it can for you too!
So how do you do it?
Here’s my simple, proven, step-by-step LinkedIn Leads system that I teach my clients:
1. First, know what your keywords are and use them generously in your LinkedIn profile headline. This will help you to appear higher in search results when LinkedIn members are searching for your keywords.
BONUS TIP: Not sure which keywords to use? Use the same keywords you use for your website.
For example, my keyword is marketing, so I use it as often as makes sense in my headline.
2. Include a call to action. What is the next step you want viewers to take?
For example, do you want them to contact you? If yes, include how they can do that.
Or…do you have a valuable gift on your website that you offer to begin the relationship? If yes, then you’ll want to drive traffic there to generate leads.
For me, in my LinkedIn profile headline, I drive traffic to my site by offering free tools.
3. Finally, put Steps 1 and 2 together to make your headline like a mini-billboard that gives an engaging and compelling quick snapshot of who you are, who your ideal clients are, what you offer them and invites your headline viewers to take the next step in cultivating a relationship…becoming a LinkedIn profile lead.
Note: You have 120 characters available (like a Twitter update), so make every word count!
