This question comes up so often when I’m working with clients.
Luckily, it has an easy answer.
Responding to Social Media Comments
What I do, and recommend my clients do…whether it’s a blog post, FaceBook likes, comments or shares, Twitter favorites or retweets, LinkedIn update or group comments or a LinkedIn Publishing article…is to first be very clear on who your Ideal Client is and what your objective is for your post…and then respond to social media comments accordingly.
My philosophy is that everything I share online is to cultivate relationships and grow my business.
For example, if someone you’d love to have as a client comments or likes something you shared, then you’d want to be sure to take the opportunity to cultivate the relationship and thank them for their like or comment or otherwise respond appropriately.
BONUS TIP: Depending on how authentic it feels to you, you can also engage with them deeper and ask if there’s any way you can help them further or what more they’d like to read about.
